Tara Lynn

If I were a secret agent, my missions in life would be titled:

  • Operation Dance Party Starter
  • Operation Make a Friend
  • Operation Pet all the Dogs
  • Operation Hold a Stranger’s Baby <true story…did that in a restaurant so the new parents could eat using both their hands)

I love life. I love sunshine. I love loving on people. But I’m still learning to love myself.

There was a time where I would pray each night asking God to take my life so I wouldn’t have to.

I survived because I had a puppy that needed care.

I survived because there was always that one client session that hadn’t yet been edited and I couldn’t leave them hanging.

This dark time gave me one obsession: the transformative power of love. Love has shaped every part of my life. From being loved by others, to loving others to not loving myself. My battle drives me to make sure YOU know that you are not alone and that you matter. A dog saved my life and I am passionate about celebrating the love of animals and preventing their pain and suffering. My battle with depression also taught me that life doesn’t have to be picture-perfect to be beautiful, but it deserved to be documented all the same.  That’s why I love telling real stories of love, laughter, loss, and life – capturing the transformative power of love for dog-loving families and brands.

“Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14

My Family

I grew up in Chesapeake, VA where I fell in love with my very first pet, a cat named Tigger. He was my faithful sidekick from the age of 2 to 17.

I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and started my tv news career as a reporter, anchor and talk show host at WCBD in Charleston, S.C.

I moved to the Triangle in 2011 – Most days, you’ll find me wearing pjs far too long and playing outside with my husband, our rescue dog Boone, and our three silly and sweet kids (two girls and a boy).

Favorite Things

I love volunteering with Triangle Beagle Rescue and other animal welfare groups.

I also love Fresca, sour gummy worms, lobster bisque, Reisling, and home-made chocolate chip cookies.

I only want to be outside when temps are 68+ degrees. You’ll find me at the beach, eating grits in Charleston, planting flowers, volunteering at my kids’ school, cheering on the Tar Heels and going for family walks (or the to NC Zoo).
