This week’s theme is “doors.” I do love a great door! Especially living in Charleston for five years, you become accustomed to checking out doors in cool historic homes!
Doors are a great way to have a natural “frame” of your subjects, however in my two examples this week, I didn’t really use the doors in that way. I just love the rich color of the front door in this first photo and the warmth of the stone. Kensi and Riley are Corgi sisters. I love the symmetry of the door and windows in the second shot. Riley (right), just lost her battle with cancer last weekend. I am so glad we were able to fit in her shoot quickly. She was so energetic and happy the day of the shoot!
This is Breanne and her super cool dog Rivers. Rivers is a big goof ball! I did use the door as more of a frame in this photo. Breanne wanted to do some updated spring photos to celebrate moving into a new home and I just love the reflection of the blue sky in the window and the contrast against the warm wood tones. A perfect shot to celebrate this new chapter!
